How This Works

BiblePlaces.com sells 3 collections of photos:

  • The Pictorial Library of Bible Lands is a 19-volume collection of high-resolution photographs of important biblical and historical sites in Israel, Jordan, Egypt, Lebanon, Turkey, Greece, and other countries. The collection includes more than 19,000 high-resolution photographs, all carefully identified and prepared for easy use.
  • The Photo Companion to the Bible is a unique collection of digital photographs that illustrates the biblical text verse by verse.
  • Historic Views of the Holy Land – a collection of older photographs and illustrations of the Holy Land. A few free images are available on the web site but access to most of the images requires a payment.

Finer Details

Collections of photos, PowerPoint presentations, and annotations are available for digital downloads. In addition to the digital download, the purchase of a collection also includes a DVD containing the purchased images.

The photos are high-resolution and suitable for publishing.

The images are copyrighted but permissions are granted with the DVD purchase for personal, educational, and church use. Separate permissions are needed for use of the images in books, magazines, commercial products, re-distributed images, DVDs, and non-personal use image databases.

What challenges or difficulties are there using this resource?

  • A computer is required to view the images.
  • The text of the annotations is only in English.
  • Separate permissions must be requested for some forms of usage.
