Kande’s Story

Kande’s Story is a story about a young African woman whose mother and father have died of AIDS. She and her five siblings, now orphans, face many problems and dangers just to survive. The story includes essential health information concerning HIV and AIDS and is packaged in template form ready to be dubbed into your language. A study guide for leaders is included. This tool also includes some of the Illustrated Bible Stories that offer a biblical response to this devastating community health crisis.

This May Be a Good Tool For Your Community If:

This tool is very helpful for pastors, community leaders, and translators who want to address the crisis of AIDS, educate the community, and offer a biblical response. Kande’s Story deals with forgiveness and family tragedy.

This tool, which offers a culturally relevant story about health issues dealing with AIDS and family, is now available to oral preference communicators and those in the community who are less literate.

How This Works

Kande’s Story includes the story itself, questions, and the following supplemental Bible stories, with video templates to aid in Scripture engagement:

  • Joseph’s Temptation
  • The Ten Commandments
  • The Man with Leprosy
  • Five Loaves and Two Fish
  • The Good Samaritan

It’s easy to use! First, you translate the script. Then, you can create videos by recording the stories in your language and adding the audio to the video templates. All the software you need and tutorials are included, so you can produce videos that can be played on computers, DVDs, and mobile phones. The software and video templates require a computer running Windows OS.

Translation Method: The text in the scripts will need to be translated, and then they will be recorded. The text in the scripts is not Scripture itself but is Bible-based, so the scripts describe biblical truths. The corresponding Illustrated Bible Stories should be consultant checked after being translated.
